In its May 2024 earnings report, Take-Two narrowed GTA 6's release window from a broad 2025 to fall 2025 (calendar Q4), with leadership expressing high confidence in the timeline.

Analysts noted the studio's colossal projected bookings, and the industry began planning around the release the way retailers plan around holidays. Competing publishers openly discussed avoiding the launch window entirely.

As history now records, fall 2025 was optimistic — but at the time, it was the firmest commitment yet.
