GTA 6 FAQ

Grand Theft Auto VI launches on November 19, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Rockstar Games confirmed the date directly, and Take-Two has restated it in official financial guidance.

At launch, GTA 6 is confirmed for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S only. Rockstar has not announced a PC version, and the last-generation PS4 and Xbox One are not supported.

Rockstar has not announced a PC version of GTA 6. Historically the studio has brought its games to PC a year or more after the console launch — 13 months for Red Dead Redemption 2, 19 months for GTA V. A GamesBeat report citing anonymous sources points to early 2027, but that remains unconfirmed.

No version has been announced. GTA 6 is a current-generation game announced only for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, with nothing announced for PS4, Xbox One, or any Nintendo Switch console.

In Leonida, a fictional US state based on Florida, centred on a modern Vice City and reaching out to the Leonida Keys, the inland swamps and the small towns beyond them. It is the first time the series has returned to Vice City in a mainline, current-era game.

Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos are the two playable protagonists, both confirmed by Rockstar. Lucia is the series’ first female lead of the modern era, and the two are a couple whose story is tied together from the start, rather than three strangers thrown together as in GTA 5.

Two — Lucia and Jason. You play as both, and gameplay footage shows switching between them, echoing GTA V's multi-protagonist structure — though here the leads are a couple bound together from the start rather than three strangers.

Rockstar has not published an exact area, but Aaron Garbut told Game Informer in September 2026 that Leonida is the largest map the studio has built, roughly twice the size of GTA 5’s. Community reconstructions from trailer footage put it at 2 to 2.5 times GTA 5’s land area across its six regions — an estimate, not an official number.

GTA 6 comes in two editions — Standard and Ultimate. Rockstar's June 24, 2026 pre-order press release states both prices: $79.99 for Standard and $99.99 for Ultimate, in US dollars before tax. Regional pricing is set per storefront and differs. There is no Deluxe or Collector's Edition of the game; the Goodtime State – Vice City Collection box is merchandise and does not include the game.

Yes. Pre-orders opened on June 25, 2026 for both the Standard and Ultimate editions. Every pre-order — and any purchase before November 20, 2026 — includes the Vintage Vice City Pack, digital pre-orders add a free month of GTA+, and pre-loading begins November 12, 2026.

Yes. Like every mainline Grand Theft Auto, GTA 6 is a single-player, open-world action-adventure — you are free to roam Leonida, take on story missions, and improvise everything in between.

Not at launch, as far as anything official says. Take-Two describes GTA 6 as a single-player experience and has given no date for an online mode. A successor to GTA Online is widely expected eventually, but nothing about it is confirmed.

No. Take-Two describes Grand Theft Auto VI as "a single-player experience," so there is no story co-op. A separate online mode may follow later, as GTA Online did for GTA V, but neither Take-Two nor Rockstar has given any detail or date.

Yes — several. Rockstar released Trailer 1 in December 2023 and Trailer 2 in May 2025, premiered the 27-minute gameplay video Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look on August 27, 2026, and released the Launch Trailer on October 15, 2026. We track every reveal and rumor as it happens.
