Four Times Take-Two Has Confirmed November 19 — Including in an SEC Filing
After two delays, the reasonable question is whether this date holds. Here is every on-record reaffirmation in 2026, and why the most recent one carries the most weight.
Grand Theft Auto VI has moved twice, by roughly eighteen months in total. Scepticism about November 19, 2026 is earned. So it is worth laying out exactly how firmly the date has been committed to this year, and by what kind of document.
February 3, 2026 — Q3 FY2026 earnings
Strauss Zelnick: "With ongoing momentum across many of our businesses, and the highly anticipated launch of Grand Theft Auto VI on November 19th, we continue to project record levels of Net Bookings in Fiscal 2027, which we believe will establish a new financial baseline for our business." He also said the marketing campaign would begin "this summer" — which it did, on June 18.
May 21, 2026 — Q4 and full-year FY2026 results
Asked directly about delay chatter, Zelnick: "I think we've been really clear that we're releasing the title on November 19." Take-Two guided fiscal 2027 net bookings to $8.0–8.2 billion and operating cash flow above $1 billion, explicitly predicated on the launch.
June 24, 2026 — the pre-order press release
A commercial commitment rather than a forecast: prices, pre-order bonuses, a pre-load date of November 12 and a physical street date, all keyed to November 19. Money changed hands from June 25.
July 17, 2026 — the preliminary proxy statement
This is the one that matters most, and it is the least covered. A proxy is a legally filed governance document, not a marketing beat. In it, Zelnick describes fiscal 2027 as potentially "a major inflection point," led by the planned November 19 release.
The distinction worth drawing is between a window and a date. Fall 2025 was a window in an earnings forecast; it moved. November 19, 2026 is a date attached to open pre-orders, a pre-load schedule, retail logistics and audited financial guidance. Those are considerably more expensive to unwind.
None of which makes it certain. Rockstar delayed a game four days before releasing a trailer once already. But the difference between the commitments of 2024 and the commitments of 2026 is real, and it is not just rhetoric.
