GTA 6 Pre-Orders Open: $79.99 Standard, $99.99 Ultimate — Officially

Two editions, two prices, one pre-order bonus, and a pre-load date. Everything below is quoted from Rockstar's own announcement — including the prices people still call unofficial.

Pre-orders for Grand Theft Auto VI opened at midnight local time on June 25, 2026. The announcement the previous day is the single most information-dense official document Rockstar has published about the game, and it settles several questions that are still argued about online.

The prices are official. The press release states the game launches "for the PlayStation 5 computer entertainment systems and Xbox Series X|S games and entertainment systems for $79.99," and that the Ultimate Edition "will be available for $99.99." These figures do not appear on the Newswire post or on rockstargames.com/VI, which is why they were widely treated as merely reported for far longer than they were unofficial.

There are exactly two editions. Standard and Ultimate. There is no Deluxe Edition and no Collector's Edition — those circulate on aggregator sites and are fabricated.

The Ultimate Edition, in Rockstar's words, "amplifies this experience with an exclusive collection of premium vehicles, weapons, apparel, and action threaded across all aspects of Jason and Lucia's story." Rockstar has not itemised its contents beyond that sentence.

Every pre-order, and any purchase before November 20, 2026, includes the Vintage Vice City Pack — "a collection of items that flash back to when the neon burned brightest." Digital pre-orders additionally get one free month of GTA+.

Digital pre-loading begins November 12, 2026. The physical version also arrives November 12, and contains a download code inside the box rather than a disc.

Two things the release confirms by omission. The game is described as "a single-player experience," with no GTA Online component mentioned for launch. And it states plainly that Grand Theft Auto VI "is not yet rated" — so the Mature rating circulating from a PlayStation marketing email is not an ESRB determination.
