Rockstar and Atlantic Records are releasing a 34-track original soundtrack album on launch day. Seven tracks are public so far, from Travis Scott and Morgan Wallen to Keith Richards and Justice.
Grand Theft Auto VI ships with an album of its own. Rockstar announced Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album on September 17: 34 original tracks, made in partnership with Atlantic Records, released on November 19 alongside the game.
The first six singles
went out on streaming services the same day:
Yung Lean — “That's It” (feat. Future & Metro Boomin). Travis Scott — “RHYNO”, produced by Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo. CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso, PinkPantheress, Fred again.. and Étienne de Crécy — “Sexy Magic”. Morgan Wallen — “Last Thing You Need”. Rauw Alejandro — “Macacoa 2000”. Keith Richards — “Bright Lights, Big City”.
A seventh track arrived with the Launch Trailer
On October 15 Rockstar released “Flower in a Hurricane” by Justice, featuring Tame Impala, SZA and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard. It is on the album, and the same post revealed that Justice composed GTA VI's original score — with a separate score album still to be announced.
How it was teased
Two days before the announcement, several of these artists posted GTA VI-styled artwork tagging Rockstar, and billboards with the same art appeared in Los Angeles, New York and Miami. None of that was explained at the time; the album was the explanation.
Formats
The album is available to pre-save on the major streaming services, with vinyl and CD editions to pre-order. Three are exclusive to the album's own store — a liquid-filled limited vinyl, a splatter vinyl and a CD jewel case — and retailers carry their own vinyl colourways.
What it isn't
This album is not the radio. Rockstar has separately revealed the first six in-game stations; whether, and where, the album's songs play inside the game has not been said. The remaining 27 track titles have not been published.
