Sony and Rockstar revealed two limited-edition GTA VI controllers at State of Play — a Black edition for Vice City nightlife and a White one for daybreak — priced at $84.99 and launching with the game.

Sony revealed two limited-edition Grand Theft Auto VI DualSense controllers during its September 3 State of Play, in a PlayStation Blog post co-written with Rockstar.

The two designs

The Black Limited Edition is inspired by Vice City's nightlife; the White Limited Edition by Vice City at daybreak — white sands and pastel skies. Both share a colour-shifting finish that blends sunset tones with neon, palm-tree details moulded into the shell so you can feel them in your grip, and official GTA VI branding.

Price

$84.99 in the US, €84.99 in the eurozone, £74.99 in the UK and ¥12,480 in Japan — the same price for either colour.

When

Pre-orders opened on September 10 (10 a.m. ET in the US through direct.playstation.com, 10 a.m. local in most of western Europe). The controllers launch on November 19, the same day as the game, though Sony notes the date can vary by region.

Where

Both are limited runs. The White edition is sold globally through direct.playstation.com and participating retailers. The Black edition is a direct.playstation.com exclusive where Sony sells direct — the US, UK, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Austria and the Benelux countries — and goes through select retailers elsewhere. If you want the Black one in those countries, a high-street shop will not have it.

Why a controller at all

The same post leans on the PlayStation 5 version's use of the DualSense's haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, part of Sony's broader message that GTA VI “plays best on PS5”. Rockstar's own site carries the same “Plays Best on PlayStation 5” line, but neither company has spelled out a gameplay difference between the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions.
