About the GTA 6 Map of Leonida

Explore 180 locations, with 71 reviewed references on our illustrated map of Leonida, the Florida-inspired state of Grand Theft Auto VI — from Vice City out to the Keys. Search the full catalogue, filter by region or category, and save places to revisit. Locations without a defensible position stay searchable.

Select a shaded region or its name to zoom into its illustrated extent, read its overview and browse its locations. The layers control switches between the new atlas and original terrain, and toggles region areas, labels, place markers and the coordinate grid. Share a map view to preserve its camera position, selected region and layers. Region names are official; drawn extents and road layouts are illustrative estimates.

Currently referenced on the illustration: 31 locations, 12 characters, 7 businesses, 6 hotels, 6 natural features, 3 nightlife venues, 2 transport locations, 2 activities, 1 services, 1 industry. Area markers are representative centres, not addresses or boundaries. Even a confirmed place can have an unresolved position.

Regions of Leonida

  • Vice City — the neon coastal metropolis at the heart of Leonida — Rockstar’s modern take on Miami.
  • Leonida Keys — a tropical island chain trailing south from the mainland, like the Florida Keys.
  • Grassrivers — inland wetlands and Everglades-style swamp country.
  • Port Gellhorn — Leonida’s forgotten Gulf coast, a faded vacation town of cheap motels and empty strip malls.
  • Ambrosia — rural inland farmland and small-town Leonida.
  • Mount Kalaga National Park — forested high ground and protected wilderness.

Vice City districts

  • Ocean Beach — the world-famous beachfront, with a personal garage a stone’s throw from the sand.
  • Washington Beach — where the Ultimate Edition’s boat is docked.
  • Stockyard — home to the Stock 305 streetwear store and Electric Fang Tattoo.
  • Southside — where the PTT Youngin$ Illegal Goods Store sits.

How big is the GTA 6 map?

Rockstar puts Leonida at roughly twice the size of GTA 5’s map — Aaron Garbut’s comparison to Game Informer in September 2026, and the largest map the studio has built. No official area has been published: the community’s trailer-derived reconstructions put it at 2 to 2.5× GTA 5’s land across six regions, so anyone quoting a precise square-kilometre figure is quoting a fan estimate. What official footage does show is a single continuous world, with no loading screen shown between regions.

GTA 6 map — FAQ

How big is the GTA 6 map?
Rockstar has not published an exact area, but Aaron Garbut told Game Informer in September 2026 that Leonida is the largest map the studio has built, roughly twice the size of GTA 5’s. Community reconstructions from trailer footage put it at 2 to 2.5 times GTA 5’s land area across its six regions — an estimate, not an official number.
Is the GTA 6 map bigger than GTA 5?
Yes. Rockstar’s Aaron Garbut told Game Informer in September 2026 that Leonida is roughly twice the size of GTA 5’s map — the largest Rockstar has built. No official area in square kilometres or miles has been published; fan reconstructions are estimates.
Where is GTA 6 set?
In Leonida, a fictional US state based on Florida, centred on a modern Vice City and reaching out to the Leonida Keys, the inland swamps and the small towns beyond them. It is the first time the series has returned to Vice City in a mainline, current-era game.
What regions are in the GTA 6 map?
Six, as named by Rockstar: Vice City, the Leonida Keys, Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia and Mount Kalaga National Park. Within Vice City, Rockstar’s own material names Ocean Beach, Washington Beach, Stockyard and Southside; other district names in circulation come from trailer signage reads and community mapping, and are not confirmed.
Is there a loading screen between areas in GTA 6?
No loading screens have been shown between regions in any official footage, and the map is presented as one continuous world. Rockstar has not made a formal statement either way.
Is this the official GTA 6 map?
No. This is an independent, illustrated community reconstruction. Entries distinguish confirmed places from unconfirmed catalogue information. Map references are approximate, and unresolved positions are kept searchable without a pin.
How accurate are the pin positions?
Pins are reviewed references on our illustration, not official game coordinates. Area circles show representative centres rather than addresses or boundaries. Positions are checked for coordinate conversion, correspondence to a drawn feature and source evidence. A confirmed place does not establish its exact position; unresolved entries stay off the map and remain searchable. Community places from GTADB are smaller pins, accurate to the district rather than the street.

Community-built and unofficial — not affiliated with Rockstar Games. Locations are compiled from trailers, screenshots and reporting; rumored entries are labelled.

Map research and sources

Place names are checked against Rockstar’s trailers and screenshots. We use State of Leonida for scene references and GTA VI Landmarks Data by GTADB.ORG and contributors (CC BY 4.0) as research leads. Database descriptions are our own writing.

The map’s community layer shows the named places in GTA VI Landmarks Data, which GTADB.ORG publishes openly under CC BY 4.0. We changed that data: positions were re-projected from GTADB’s map onto our illustration and are accurate to the district, not the street. We also removed names from the leaked material, generic and uncertain names and places our database already covers. Community places are labelled as such, link back to GTADB, and are not database entries. Where we haven’t reviewed a database entry’s position yet, its pin uses GTADB’s position and is labelled the same way. A place joins the database only once two independent sources or an official artefact back it.

Placement review: October 17, 2026. Coordinates, drawn features and source evidence were checked separately. These are artwork references, not official game coordinates.Interstate 404 and Interstate 97 are documented from road signs; their full routes are still unresolved.
